looking for a good shift kit. Any ideas?
 

what would be the most affective for me to bark at least 2nd on my car. I have a 89 Iroc Z with a 350 TPI. 700RF trans. I want it to at least be affordable, but not to bad to install.

If your 700r4 is otherwise healthy. (No eratic shifting or bad flair up between gear)
I'd recommend the Superior "Shift Correction Package" This will firm up all the shifts while retaining the accumulators (durability)
It includes the "Corvette servo" and the Corvette UPshift sleeve and boost valve.
It was very easy and straightforwrd to install for the DIY'er. (ME)This kit does not
include the valve body separator gaskets,
filter or pan gaskets. Order the right one from GM as they vary by year, but are cheap.
The part# is Superior K700-R4 HP.
If you need more than this (major reprograming) Downshift at any speed etc.
Look into a Transgo "Shift Kit" and have a pro install it. Neither of these kits were designed to fix a tired transmission but have lots of upgrades. Apparently the B&M kits leave a lot to be desired on these trans. https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif

Although I don't recommend a setup that barks 2nd due to durability issues, if that is what you want you can get it with the TransGo Reprogramming Kit along with the 'Vette Servo and larger boost valves. The key to this kit is it also addresses the causes of failure in this tranny and fixes them (at least the ones that are purely control caused problems- you can still suffer a mechanical induced failure- such as from a too hard shift).

well my tranny seems to be fine. My dad told me when we did the motor it looked like it was a newly rebuild tranny. I just want it to shift harder so if I want to I can bark 2nd or 3rd. I was thinking about the corvette servo thing.
