thoughts about my driveshaft Hi folks, i got a bunch of thoughts in my head about the driveshaft in my future setup for my formula, which will be a T56 (0.5 6th) and 4.10's out back. i was contemplating an LS1 alum driveshaft but then read that there have been problems with the stock 3.42 gears at around 150 mph. i think that was the point where the shaft's critical speed was reached. so i tried to relate that to my situation with the 4.10 gears and came up with the same critical speed situation at about 125 mph. don't get me wrong, 125 mph are not every day driving here even on our autobahn here (austria's autobahns are not as liberal as germany's though). but in my daily driver i go 100 mph every other day, and i don't want to worry about my built 6speed formula not being able to 'cruise' along at that speed for some time. i think i read that half the critical speed is where you would normally want to be running your driveshaft at for prolonged time periods, so that got me really worried now and i'm not sure what i can do. btw, anyone got figures of the stock 3rdgen driveshafts?? Thanks in advance for any and all input! Greetz ownor |

Re: thoughts about my driveshaft already read that thread and it got me even more worried ;) just hoped that someone would come up with some specifics about stock or aftermarket supplied shafts. |
