700R4 Valvebody question

Hey guys, I wanted to know if the V6 700R4 and the V8 700R4 had the same valvebodies, I'm looking at a 87 with a manual valve body and I want to put in the stock one from a extra V6 700R4 I have.

What is the year of the stock valve body? What do you want to exchange exactly? From what to what?

A stock 89 V6 700R4 Valve body into a 87 V8 700R4. I really was just wondering if they were the same and interchangeable.

When you install the 1989 valve body on the 1987 unit, you will have to use the separator plate from the 1989 as well. The 1987 valve body is matched to the 1987 separator plate in most cases.

Oh ok. Thanks. I wasn't sure if they were compatible or not.

As long as they both have the Aux. valve body, you are fine.
