Best quality torque convertor?

I need a new lock up convertor for a 700R4 in the 1600 to 1800 range. What are the best brands? I have not heard good things about TCI's convertors but I have no experience with them. My last rebuild came with a reconditioned convertor. I want to go new this time. Thanks for any replies Brothers.

PS, I'm looking at Hughes currently and have sent them an e mail. I just don't think I need a sloppy in efficient convertor in my car. I'm not drag racing it. Thanks

Nobody has an opinion? I did a search and didn't find much. I'm thinking of going with a Hughes. Anybody running one?

Of the big brands, hughes makes quality stuff. I would go ahead with bigger converter though. when you get to up to cruise and it locks up it isnt gonna matter. Id run 2500-2800....

I had my transmission built, and I went with a custom built 2800stall when I put back in, no complaints here...

For a stockish application, it will be hard to beat the price of the Hughes, but looking at your mod list, I'd probably start looking towards a Precision Industries Vigilante 2800 stall. They offer a free re-stall within 2 years of original purchase. If you go heavy on the mods later, send it in and get it re-stalled for the price of shipping. I'd recommend adding an aftermarket tranny cooler though if you go that route.

Why 2800? I need to move the car at low rpm for autocross. Thanks for the replies!
