Zoom Clutch Kit didnt come with bolts

I bought a Zoom clutch kit and it didnt come with bolts for the pressure plate. I have a set of bolts from a previous project (happens to be header bolts) that will fit. Can I just use these or do i need special bolts for the pressure plate to flywheel?

They are special. They have short threads and a sort of shoulder behind that, that makes a kind of dowel pin to positively locate it.

Get the right thing. It's SOOOOPER CHEEEEEEEEEP and readily available. Like $10 a set, if that. Might even be hanging on a card at AZ in the "performance" aisle, under the Mr Gasket name.

Re: Zoom Clutch Kit didnt come with bolts

OK so scratch what I said before, the bolts that I have thread right into the flywheel, but wont even fit through the pressure plate bolt holes. The bolt holes for the flywheel are 3/8, but it looks like the holes for the pressure plate are 1/2.

So I guess I should give some background to my project. Please dont bash for this. I have a 350 with a V6 T5 (its only temporary). I got this clutch kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/zz...00-1/overview/.

This is the clutch kit i need from what ive read on here that will work for this swap. Do i need to drill out the pressure plate bolt holes to make these bolts fit?

Have you got accustomed to HAVING FEET? Like those things down there past your ankles? Ready to give em up yet?

That's not a good place in a car to be doing some kind of "alternate ethnic engineering", not of ANY ethnicity whatsoever.

Since THE RIGHT bolts have a shoulder behind the threads, you might well find that if you use THE RIGHT bolts, they'll fit tight in the pressure plate like they're supposed to.

Re: Zoom Clutch Kit didnt come with bolts

I think your doing this wrong. DO NOT DRILL ANYTHING. I thought you needed a astrovan clutch disc, 10.5" and 14 spline and use the proper v8 pressureplate. Asaik the v6 pressure plate doesnt work with the v8 153 tooth flywheel.

But again, use correct bolts and dont start drilling out holes, its a disaster waiting to happen
