Diesel PCM to TCM for 4L80 1 Attachment(s) This is not a 3rd gen question but on a 94 Chevy truck. Since this is the most knowledgeable place I know for the inner workings of GM products, I'm hoping someone can help. I have a 94 K1500 6.5l diesel which had the electronic injection pump. I converted to a mechanical pump and used the single TPS signal to feed APP 2 in order for the transmission to operate. It does an OK job of running but I think there should be a way to split the TPS signal and feed APP 1 or APP 3 to get better operations (shifts hard at times). I can wire and run a standalone TCM, but don't want to do that. The current PCM has the capability to operate the trans I just need help figuring how to duplicate or bypass the APP/TPS signal. Also, if this is the wrong forum, where to post it? Attached is the 94 wiring diagram. Any help, guidance, insight or alternative methods are greatly appreciated. |
Re: Diesel PCM to TCM for 4L80 I'm not understanding how your proposal differs from '92, when the PCM controlled the 4L80E but not the 6.5TD? |
Re: Diesel PCM to TCM for 4L80 The 92 used only 1 TPS input, the 94 has 3 different APP inputs (the same as TPS) from the electronic accelerator. The 94 is a drive by wire system, no throttle cable. Looking for a way to duplicate the needed TPS signals and feed them to the APP inputs using the existing PCM. I want to use the existing PCM to properly control the trans, don't want to have to wire and install a TCM. |
