Is a stock 350 too much for a T5? I'm looking at getting a 1984 Z28 with a T5 and a stock 350. The only thing I'm going to put on it is a 750 holley carb and some headman headers. Is the 350 going to be too much for the t5? I've heard a lot of bad and good things about the T5s. I do have an 86 700r4 that was rebuilt but still isn't shifting out of first, for some reason. I could SOMEHOW fix that and throw that in there with the 350 but that tranny is just giving me so much trouble trying to fix it. |
Re: Is a stock 350 too much for a T5? Drive the T5 with some respect knowing it will break if you abuse it. Might last forever. Ride it hard and power shift. It might blow up first drive. I personally have 2 cars with the T5 and am not afraid of blowing them up. One is a stock 84z and the other a 3000# 375hp vega. |
Re: Is a stock 350 too much for a T5? Had a 350 with a T-5 for a few years. I've had no problems. It should do the job for you. |
Re: Is a stock 350 too much for a T5? Forgot to mention it's a corvette 350. Not sure if that matters. Lol |
