92 3.1 v6 Automatic trans Oil & filter change?

Well my trans has been shifting a little weird lately.. from 1 into 2 their is a slight thud I can feel in the trans. Doesn't slip or anything . Feels like something moves and then returns to its place when giving it hard throttle.. when u give it light throttle I don't feel it. .. I checked my trans fluid after a while driving and there are bubbles on the dipstick.. it doesn't smell burnt or anything but it's kinda brown...... I was wondering if I should drop the pan and do an oil/filter change??? Or just drive it till it blows. I heard about the myths when changing tyranny fluid.. any suggestions. ?? A

Most likely the 2nd accumulator spring is broken. To replace it need to drop the pan.

Using care not to rip the gasket the 2nd accumulator housing it is just three bolts to remove. Dump old spring parts out, insert new spring and bolt it back in place.

After removing the filter make sure that the o-ring gasket isn't stuck in the pump. If it isn't removed the new filter won't seat into place.

Use Dex-6 to fill it back up.

For the "slight thud", check your trans mount (perhaps while changing the fluid).

Do you have the part no. For the 2nd accumulator spring?

I don't have a part number. Note that the 2nd accumulator springs varied according to application. They are color coded to ID them.
