Transmission swap

Hi. I'm a new member and need some input on swapping transmissions. I have a 1990 Camaro rs and it came with a 305/700r4 set up. I've swapped the engine to a 350 I had previously built for an 82 Silverado. Reverse has gone out in the 700r4 ( I haven't driven car since engine swap) and I'm considering swapping to a TH350. Any problems with that or info on changes I'll need to make on order to accomplish this?? Before you ask, Idk what happened to the 700R4. It worked on original motor but now wont go into reverse and fluid smells burnt. I'm assuming it would be easier/cheaper to swap it out. I have a th350 available to use. Thanks in advance!

It will be much easier and probably cheaper to put a 700R4 back into it. Torque arm mount kit, different drive-line, shifter, convert to a kick-down cable, etc. Then you lose a gear...... just get a 700.

Re: Transmission swap

I have a lockdown cable set up now since its a carburetor now instead of fuel injection. I read somewhere on here that I could take the long tail off the 700r4 and put it on the new trans to make up the difference in length and not have to swap driveshafts. I've never pieced together a trans/driveshaft like that before tho.
