How do you increase preasure?
 
Wouldn't this give you alot of HP? Can someone give someone info into this. Price, how you do it, and what it does...

I assume you are talking about cylinder pressure. Easy use thinner head gaskets. Or have you heads milled down.
You have to run better fuel and less advance with this due to the incrase in the likelyness of knock.
It does help power, but you run some risk with it to.
Price? head gaskets are realtively cheap.
Milling the heads, less that $100 bucks each.

86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

Risk. Well detonation due to added cylinder pressure. Runnign hotter. You will need a healthier ignition to jump the gap properly. If you already have som ignition mods, A cold air intake you should be fine and find about 5hp out of taking .010" off the head or replacing the gaskets to a thinner FelPro. I know for the SBC they have various thcknesses for different applications.
If you want to deck the heads you can get the same effect, but usually people couple this with porting while the head is at the machine shop. Now that will net you 15-20hp https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/biggrin.gif.
Another risk you run is if you drop the head down too far your vavles might not have the proper clearence to clear the piston tops and well you know what can happen if a piston and valve colide.... Kaboom bye bye RS 3.1. Though it could be a good escuse to finally start your 3.8L Turbo COnversion

The computer would never know it has more compression than it did before. It will see the engine is running hotter and pick up more knock if the engine detonated.
Thats why you need colder air and a better ignition.
This does not increase air or fuel that goes into the engine. Just compresse it more. If you ever take a class in thermodynamics you will understand how important pressure is in a chemical reaction. I dont feel like typing out nor do you feel like reading a whole chapter, but as it goes higher pressure makes reactions go faster, i.e. burn faster and make more power.

Yes GM put a turbo on a 3.1 in a sunbird and a Grand Prix. Though they were both FWD and would require full fabrication of all pipes and plumbing. Then you would need special fuel system compnents and your computer would have to be a complete custom set up. Sorry to much work for a 3.1 to me. Seems like it would be easier to Twin Turbo a V8 or just find a Grand Ntional and get the 3.8Turbo out of it and swap it in.
