More 3.4 questions.

Ok, so now that I have disassembled my engine I want to get it bored to a 3.5. How much has to be machined out? Also has anyone ever used parts from Redline on Ebay? If so do you recomend them?

.080" would give you 3498 cc, though whether or not the block has enough meat to bore it out that much I do not know. Personally, I wouldn't bother, lots of better things to spend that kind of money on if you want more power, and your block will be stronger to handle it. Unless you are rebuilding, but even then I would go with something more conservative.
It doesn't help that you are actually starting with 3349 cc, the displacement rating on the 3.4 was a tad optimistic, technically its a 3.3 if rounding off the 2nd decimal, or a 3.35 if rounding off the 3rd

The short answer yes, the long answer is..well long, the guy selling those is an idiot, those are aluminum FWD heads, search hybrid, and or read my sticky on the v6 section if you want more info. They will bolt up to the block, but require supporting modifications to be able to be used.

From what I remember, you can NOT bore a 3.4 block enough to get a 3.5. I think even .060 over leaves the cylinder walls a bit on the thin side. I'd just do a .030 over and look other places (heads, intake, exhaust) to get power out of. The cast heads on our cars are a piss poor design, so theres lots of room for improvement if you dont want to swap the aluminum ones on.

Yeah I have deciced not to bore the block. I will most likely do a hybrid swap or port/polish the iron heads, but I'm not ready for that yet.
