Camaro bogs down
 

I have an 86 camaro with a fresh 3.1 swap it seemd to be running fine and drove no problem and my mechanic said weve done a good job.
But today whenever we started it it would kind of bog down and kind of backfire if we revved for too long or high and my mechanic said it was a lean backfire. Sounds like its not getting enough gas. Would it be the fuel pump or the injectors? It almost died a couple times but itll idle decent. But everytime we would reset the computer it would run fine to a certain point or random time. Then the same. When u press gas itll drop in rpms then crackle and whatever then let go itll resume proper idle. What do you guys think? Fuel delivery? Is there much difference in 2.8 to 3.1?

Ive tightened the wires and what not going to the positive terminal and now she revs no problem at least the few times ive turned off and on hadnt had a whole lot of time at the moment. But she runs rich and i was wondering what i could do to help that? Getting very bad fuel milage but everything seems to be working fine. Ive used the paper clip trick to "pull codes" or whatever not sure what code it would be it was like code 12 3 times then it did (flash,flash, pause, flash flash) 3 times then went to code 12 again and started all over. I need some help. Everything seems to be fine just running real rich. Did i miss something in doing the swap?
