302 to 730 ecu

so I have been looking around. And just about ready to start swapping parts. What I can't find is a direct 302 to 730 wiring. Maybe I have not looked in the right spot. What I have found here is some info for 302 to 165, 165 to 730. This leaves room for error and making a mistake. Like I said, maybe I have not been where I need to be for this info, but I don't want the chance of failure from swapping to one then the other. It will be hard to track down what I did wrong if I do it like that. Im boosted and need to get away from the maf, I have a three bar on the way and will start on the program tonight. I post in the sixer side, as I am 2.8 at this time. I figured some one here knows.
I would appreciate any help, or steering in the right direction. Thanks!

I think you will have to make your own pinout conversion.

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

I'll be making some changes to this I think. I also have notes that I need to check. I'll add colors too. I have to look at a few more things and double check. Feel free to look over my work so far. And if anyone sees any adjustments that need to be made, feel free to say i f'ed it up. I plan to make an adapter harness this weekend. Should take and hour or two. Hopefully running this week.

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

Well. I came up with this spaghetti on the weekend. Dropped a program in the chip. Car was not exactly happy and ran rich. Have a few bugs to work out. But it ran. What a difference from MAF! Even running dirty it ran differently! So far happy with the progreso soup. I may eventually just repin the car, but this works for now as it don't put me down till I have it all worked out.

Any new updates on the tune ?
Are you using $88 mask ?

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

I went with $59. I had started from scratch, and got it running, but was like screw it. I am running and driving around week #two. I was going to pull the old chip and replace it (302 ecu), but when I pulled the pins out the tracks were shot. This may have led to some of my issues that I had been having with the car. Idk. But I would have never found it otherwise. it could be fixed, but I am doing fine so for, so I'll keep going the way I am. the car feels good, only at five psi still. Maybe I'll drop the other spring back in on the weekend. 36lb injectors from a super charged olds. With going down on the ecu, it was all in time, and at lest it didnt take to long to get them swapped out.
I really wanted to try the other program, but there are some things that still need worked out with it. And I am not sure I want to be the one to do it. I dont have time. I didnt get any response so I left it be.
I found my emulator, which made a huge difference, and I need to hook up the wideband. I am not over rich, nor over lean. But some where in the middle. Everytime I have a go again it gets better. And I am enjoying my car again.
I will post bin when I get closer.

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

So. It's been a while, but I have updated the list as I went on and verified stuff. I've had a fuel issue. I will also be going to srt injectors. So she has been sitting and I'm starting again on the new engine. This weekend I decided I had enough, I missed my car. I fixed the broke line drove it around the block and did a burn out. On this kick I decided to actually repin the car. Here is what I found since my quest starting all this.

d6 is O2 gnd add wires
d7 IS a main gnd add wires
d6 and d7 had no where to go on my harness. Sort of. I used a ground block and I powered on different systems in the cars computer originally, so I know they worked and I have to change the list again. Just ground these to the body if you don't have the wires. I have since added those wires. Also I had a map gnd wire on that block at one time, it worked okay. But was better when it was not in the harness or on the block. So just run right off the ecu. Don't even repin off the maf for the map.
there are some wiring wrong with the other chart from the 302/165/730/749 swap thread. No one ever says what it is, or what they did. I used it when I could not find d6 and I could not get it to work. Looking at the other list C10 is also wrong. It should be c11 bank 1, c12 bank 2, for the injectors. I am on c11 c12, my buddy is on the '749 setup with his '730 but different injectors. He was c11 c10 and the injectors would not fire there was a lot of grief there. There are other things on the list not plugged in. I plugged all mine in originally, and it works as it should. I have not hooked up something to the vss yet that was on the loom and it is coughing and spitting while driving now. I had wondered if it was correct.
I had loaned it out (ecu) so I think I had not disabled the check sum and forgot, I also never loaded a new bin on the emulator to try that. Thinking on this now it would have saved me some grief as I could not get any data or anything from the ses, and the light would just stay on. I knew for sure it worked before. Some of this stuff is on loan to someone doing this in a camaro and he is working out his wiring bugs. So I drop a unmolested mem in and I have ses function and aldl port. Go figure. I thought I repin it wrong.
I am using the '749 a9 aldl pin. It also works with stock code mem. Interesting. I will also look at the f4 for tcc. I don't think it was working before. But it was in a different code for sure with this schematic. Software change hardware I guess.
Hopefully I get the laptop back soon and I'll get to work again. I never got the chance for auto tune and I was petty close.
Oh. The wiring colors are damn near identical.

And that's all I can think of for now.

"only at five psi still"

you got a boosted v6?

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

Yes sir I do. The 2.8 is on 15lbs at this time. I had bought a 5lb spring and I got to say it did it’s job. If I started getting back pressure it would open with out a vacuum line. It worked great to keep me under.

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

i searched your threads and I don't see a thread about a turbo build. I wanna see pics.

Re: 302 to 730 ecu

Yeah. I don't think I did one. I have some threads I should update. This winter the car is getting blown apart. A re-spray. A swap.
I think there are photos out and about. Let's see...

There we go. Looks a bit different now. I'll update soon.
I also plan to tig up mani's. Intake and exhaust. Intake will be down the road.
