Vacuum hose problem https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...695fb45a0.jpeg Does anyone know where this vacuum line is supposed to go ? |
Re: Vacuum hose problem Yes indeed I do , it's supposed to connect to a piece of solid plastic tubing that is bundled in with the heater/AC wiring harness that exits the firewall . You may notice with that not connected the heat/AC blows out of the defroster vents only and not out of the dash vents or the floor vents , this is the default "failure mode" of when there is no vacuum applied to the heat/AC to ensure a clear windshield . Also , right at where the 90 degree bent rubber boot meets the valve there is broken off a second vacuum connection that's supposed to go to the vacuum storage ball that lives under the battery tray (jokingly called "The Orb of Power" by enough people that a search here for it will produce results) . With that being open like that you have a vacuum leak that could very well produce a crappy (choppy) idle . |
