Will they fit 15X10 4.5BS -28 offset?

I'm still confused about all this wheel fit stuff. Will these wheels fit the back of an thirdgen?

Thanks.

you didnt list what bolt pattern they are.

however, a 15x10 with 4.5" of backspacing will not fit the car properly, they will stick out bigtime.

Define "big time". That would only 1" wider than my 9" wheels w/4.5" bs were & they sat in about 3/4". Based on that personal experience, I'd say they'd stick out 1/4"

What about the -28 offset doesn't that add like an inch to the backspace or am I not understanding correctly?

probably a little more than that, and thats just the wheel, the tire will bulge a bit more.

for a 15x10, 5.5"BS is common for the drag reace guys, but in reality, they sit too far outward. 6" is about right, but its a hard spec to find. 6.5 looks best, but requires some inner wheel well work to make fit properly

Actually....The 3/4" in measurement of mine that set in at was the sidewall of the 315 tire, not just the rim.

I think I'm starting to get this stuff. Basically the offset and the backspace thing are giving you the same information. Is that right? 4.5" is zero offset for an 8" wheel. But something puzzles me, why do I see mainly 4.5" backspaced wheels. In fact looking through our equivalent of ebay I can't find anything much else except for the Japanese type cars?

If you are referring to everything being shown in Offset not bs, then that is the norm now. They have pretty much all gone to Offset (metric) instead of bs. Which doesn't make any logic. Offset takes more "work" to figure wheel specs & fitment out vs just knowing the bs. What hasn't gone to metric these days?

We are pretty used to metric here, as you say not many countries use imperial now. I was actually referring to wheels for american cars, most I see for sale are 4.5 or less backspace. Maybe it just a peculiarity of where I live :-)

Re: Will they fit 15X10 4.5BS -28 offset?

that size wheel with 4.5" of bs is a more common fitment on older gm full body cars and f-bodies. Thats why you see more. You have to look a little harder to find properly fitting wheels for a 3rd gen. There are tons out there, but you will enver find them on the common wheels sites if you just search for "camarp/firebird" or "82-92 f-body" fitment. You have to just search by bolt pattern and BS/offset.

OK, thanks everybody, I think I'm getting the hang of it now.
