Locking wheel nuts?? Just got ready to strip my rear axle on the donor car and it has locking wheel nuts fitted! The original plastic lug nut covers were fitted right over them so I'm wondering if they're a factory item or not? Any help would be great as I can't get them off as I don't have the key! |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? Use a socket that just barely fits over the lock and hit the socket with a hammer, then use a breaker of some sort, that should get it off. |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? Tried that already. Split three sockets. They look like hardened steel lock nuts so trying that won't work. |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? Try welding a nut to it. |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? Use better sockets? or you can buy the removal tool from most auto parts stores. Looks like a socket bit has teeth inside. Hammer on and go. |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? OK, found out it is factory, has the RPO cod for it. Anyway, I don't have the key so I'll be buying the tool to remove it and cracking it off! Thanks for the help guys! |
Re: Locking wheel nuts?? I have used vise grips and hammer before to get aftermarket locks off. |
