Re: UMI vs Ground Control

Ground controls cost more because they include a rear setup as well. Umi is just the front.

Re: THoughts on an 18" rim on my Formula

I would agree that in many cases of manufacturing that tolerances are not as tight as 4 decimal places out but when dealing with a tapered bore isnt it more critical? Take this wheel hub example. If...

Re: THoughts on an 18" rim on my Formula

I ran the same wheels, great setup.

I will disagree with the 120 vs 120.65 thing as usual. The manufactures tolerance is much lower, and its beyond crazy to say otherwise. While it's close...

Re: THoughts on an 18" rim on my Formula

The wheel you linked to has a positive 40mm offset, so you need a spacer about 1.5" thick to fit it. Use an adapter which converts the 5x120 to 5x4.75 and you are all set.

245/40/18 is the height...

I did this for a while years back. However, I decided to spend the 100$ on a set from hawks than trust a rigged up setup.

Re: Going to remove donor parts for a T5 conversion from a donor car - tips, tricks?

Everything is pretty straight forward, but getting the pedals out can be a bear. It helps to bring a few long extensions and a universal bit. Unbolting and dropping the steering column helps a lot....

Re: 18x9.5 considerations

They are 28.5" tall, that a light truck/SUV tire size. Not going to work for you.

You need a 275/35/18 to keep it around 26"

Re: No fuel to the Carburetor. I just installed a new mechanical fuel pump

You need the bolts or it will drip oil.

Also, if you didn't use the bolt to hold the pushrod in place, you probably dont ha e the pushrod sitting on the pump arm, and that's why you have no fuel.

Re: hub centric rings 18" replica 87 iroc z style

You dont need them for most wheels. If you want to add them, go ahead. The inner bore should be 70.3mm, the outer diameter is whatever the wheels bore is.

Re: widest fronts

I ran 295/35/18 up front for years on a 10.5" wheel. They fit nicely. I chose the size because there were/are a lot more tire options in a 295 than the wider sizes.

Re: Will these fit my 83Z? 17*9.5

You will probably need a small shim/spacer about 1/4" to clear everything. The tie rod is where it's going to be close.
Or use an 18" version and it will fit right on.

Re: deciding between a th350 an a th400 .

A "rebuilt" th350 is not the best option at that power level. You need a well built trans to hold up and honestly if you plan to do much more than drag race the car, I'd keep the overdrive.

Yes, those are correct

The front bar is the improvement, I wouldn't bother with the rear. These can usually grip better with smaller rear bars anyway

You would need to add material so it contacts at the right time. Chances are the bumpstop is not tall enough.
