You'll need to install a gauge adapter to check pressure. Checking flow is easier if you just WATCH THE INJECTOR SPRAY.

Look and see. On the early TBI pickups, the sensor by the oil filter drives the gauge, the switch by the distributor is tied into the fuel pump circuit. Other vehicles are wired differently.

Code 12 with the engine not running is totally normal, it's telling you that the ECM is not getting reference pulses from the distributor. That's what's expected when the distributor isn't turning....

Far as I can tell, the TPI pumps and the TBI pump produce about the same volume, the difference is the pressure. The pressure regulator on the TBI will provide proper pressure for the TBI injectors....
