One thing is certain. May's COTM will be either a red or black Firebird or Camaro.

Re: May 2017 COTM **Voting Thread**

Thanks for the nomination. Mine is a complete ground up rebuild. Nothing has been left as is. In fact it's an all new car almost and has a new speedo with only a couple miles on it now.

The idea behind this one was to build a semi 80s correct car with a lot of upgrades. That's why it has 80s super rare jongbloed aero 3 pc wheels. An 80s prototype mcfarland intake (only a couple exist. I have the complete test mule) 80s black interior (original was ugly cloth) etc. The supercharged engine had to fit under the stock hood. It took quite a bit of fiddling to get everything crammed in there.
The brakes are j55... 80s

I have a detailed build thread describing most of what has been done.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...t-my-87-a.html

Engine is a 355 wuth tfs g1 heads custom pushrods and crane rockers. Custom valve covers. Mcfarland short ram. Custom fuel setup using mostly aeromotive parts. Ati damper. Modified hedman headers. Custom built serpentine drive with home made brackets. Custom p600b mounting.
Runs on modified code 33 with intercooler pump control has backup control via hobbs switch.

a lot of stuff was modified or hand built. Custom stuff includes the exhaust, subframe connectors, engine intercooling etc.

recently had a full down to metal repaint using only spies hecker for quality and durability.

Re: May 2017 COTM **Voting Thread**

Thank you for the nomination!

My 1987 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 has about 29,200 original miles. It is an LB9 hardtop car, wearing its original Flame Red Metallic (74U) over Silver Metallic (13) paint. I am the third owner of this car, and I have owned the car since August of 1998. The car was also previously featured in the August 2014 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines.

The car remains very, very original and it retains its original plugs, wires, hoses, exhaust and aerowing. I did replace the v-belts, but did keep all of the original ones. The Gatorbacks were sadly gone prior to when I purchased the car.

I want to thank you sincerely for the nomination, and I consider it an honor to have my car included in this great selection of cars!

Anyway, here are some pictures of the car:

Re: May 2017 COTM **Voting Thread**

Here's more pics. True surviver car. 7k miles, last licensed in 86. Everything is original down to the air filter. Before saying " what a waste, cars should be driven, not stored" I have many other trans ams I drive, this ones staying one of the last 82 survivers 😬

Apart from not being a coupe that's my dream car. Crossfire (still have a soft spot for that system) black gold ond's and it's pristine.

Clearance is ok. Noise is... well it's loud on the go pedal but all my cars are. The fumes are not bad at all. It's not for everyone...just different

Re: May 2017 COTM **Voting Thread**

Tough choices here, especially with Chris' 82 TA. But I had to vote for Twin Turbo. I have been following his threads for years and his custom fabrication skills are phenomenal. He has a bunch of projects and all of them are truly one off. This Camaro is a great example.

Re: May 2017 COTM **Voting Thread**

I like that '82 very much - if it was a driver then it would rock! But I can't bring myself to vote for a car that is decommissioned, not licensed, and subsequently not maintained properly to be safe on the road. It is basically a project car, just not in the classic sense of the word.
