Anyone running theses heads?

SBC CHEVY 210CC FULLY BUILT ALUMINUM HEADS 64CC CNC'd

Ebay heads, contacted the seller says "they have both perimeter and centerbolt configuration" but they are vortec so machining would be needed for a Tpi. Anyone try these or currently running them. Goal is put my tpi on top, I have a 89 4 bolt 350 short block that I'm working with. Hoping to do lt4 hot cam

92 z28 Wc T5 3.1 (305 blew)

I wouldn't buy em. If I had AFR's or something valuable for sale, I'd let you know. ...if not.... well....probably best to not take a chance. Lot's of garbage out there.

....and just saw this is going on a 350 TPI? 200cc are WWWAAAAYYYYYYY to big!!!!!!!! ...and white performance, oh jeez.

Budget and goal. Well goal is 350-400 hp at crank nothing insane. Budget for heads about $800, looking to save where I can. Full time student, part time job deal.

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

OK, here's some food for though, followed by some budget recommendations.

First, keep in mind that HOW the engine makes HP and torque will have a tremendous effect on how the car drives and feels on the street. A 450 HP engine that revs to 7000 RPMS will not feel as streetable as a 350 HP car that's set up for street driving and maybe only revs to 5500 but makes lots of useable torque. MY 383 TPI makes tons of torque real quick, and some of my LS buddies are impressed with "how fast" it is. That being said, I bet it wouldn't dyno even 400hp, and would surely lose a 1/4 mile race to a mildly built LS. (all things being equal). I built it that way on purpose. Point is, consider how and what you build, not the number on a piece of paper.

2 combos that are budget friendly, but would certainly give you a big seat of the pants upgrade.

First keep in mind that stock TPI will increase fun/torque, but limit race winning peak HP.

Aluminum L98/zz4 HO/113 casting heads with a zz4 or hotcam.
Vortec 062/906 heads/vortec base/ zz4 or hotcam.

Both will require a little tuning but should easily start and run "pretty" well if you're still running MAF. zz4 more than hotcam, but both would be nice. You'll wanna do a little work on the springs/valvetrain if ya go vortec, and you use those cams, but it's nothing major. I'd look for ALL the stuff used.

Just two options, both if you shop around, can be found used and would be very affordable. Both will be a big bump in fun/smile factor, but neither will really impress you on paper. Don't go by the numbers, go by if it's FUN!

...and keep in mind you'll want all the obligatory upgrades like making sure the ignition system, plugs, wires, etc. are all tuned and working properly, and you'll DEFINITELY want to make sure you've done exhaust first.

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

Just saw this was a 92 car, which means SD, not MAF. Tuning will be MORE important with the less forgiving SD, however they'd really need tuning either way, so keep that in mind.

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

That's what I figured I'd end up with is a set of vortec heads, with a hot cam of sort. And exhaust is already there, has 2.5 dual exhaust with x pipe for the 305 when it was alive. I can get a set of stock 906 vortec heads for $400. With that I would have to increase the lift, due to the lt4 hot cam with 1.6rr is.525.

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

I think there are spri gs you can use (do a search) that dont require a machine shop. Dont remember the details off the top of my head. Still id have a machine shop go through any used heads ans clean / check over the heads, valve job etc etc. Its pretty cheap insurance and they can set up for your required lift. ...plus with 525 lift youll want screw in studs too.

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

DO NOT BUY from Skip White!!!

Alex's Parts has your valvetrain parts - with NO MACHINING for Vortec heads.

https://www.alexsparts.com/categorie...TEC%2C-GEN-II/

https://www.alexsparts.com/valve-spr...rf-hyd-roller/

Also look at Aerohead. http://www.aeroheadracing.com/chevy.html

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

Where are you located? There's a guy on Albany NY Craigslist selling some off brand aluminum heads for $650. I'm gonna grab a set next week for my l98. They're 64cc chamber, 190 port volume. Wouldn't mind seeing someone else try them first, lol!

Re: Anyone running theses heads?

Looking on jegs, found promax preformance 2151 heads part number 723-2151. Flows 185 cc with 2.02 and 1.6 valves. Would still have to increase the lift for a hydrolic filler cam, due to its only .500 and lt4 with 1.6tr are .525. Anyone running them or try them?
