1986 iroc tpi problem
Ok so I just picked up a 1986 iroc Z28 true with 54k miles been sitting awhile and someone robbed the cold start injector so I put a delete kit on it and fired the car up. It ran like crap. And bigger and popped and had cel code 34. While running cel light turned off and when I jump the terminals to check codes the cel light will not come on at all. And the car cranks but won't fire it does fire on starting fluid but doesn't run. Need help.

Didn't get a chance gonna check that today. Someone was saying coolant temp sensor, burnish why that would make my cel light turn off and no work at all even in dia mode.

As TP suggested, check the standing pressure - Then fire up the grill for those strips before they spoil...
The error code is for a MAF under-reporting flow. If the car sat for a long time that can be expected, and we can work that out once it is running.

If the fuses, power supplies, and ground to the ECM check out, then it could also be a bad ECM. Mine (also 86) had a cracked circuit board and acted similarly. I only got it to go into diag mode once - would run sometimes and not others but always poorly. Random and erratic behavior and unable to connect to ALDL, etc. New ECM and problems went away. Mine sat in the woods for 11 years though.
Your's probably has the original 86 ECM as mine did given the low mileage on yours.... They are failure prone. If you have access to a known good one then I would swap them after checking fuses, etc. It's a lot faster to try another ECM than it is to rule out everything else it could be on the power and ground side, etc. I had to buy one so I went through every wire on the ECM pinout that could possibly cause my issues before I spent the money. But it took hours to do.

So I happened to blow the inline fuse next to the battery and it didn't help I had a plug off the dizzy. So it's firing up but not wanting to stay running. Gonna drain tank and fill with good premium.

Don't fill it with premium. Fill it with the lowest octane fresh gasoline you can find. Lower octane is more volatile, and may help clean up the system better. Once it is running normally it can get whatever fuel you like.

Okay I'll try this. I'm also seeing what looks like exhaust out the throttle body maybe even a little oil.
