400" miniram low rpm street motor dyno
Guys are always worried about giving up low end torque. Especially when talking about going to a short intake runner intake like miniram. But not always the case.
Heres a marine motor thats going into a boat but basic build can be used on the street just fine and last forever. Insane torque curve. 475 hp by 5500 rpm. 91 oct gas. 500 lb ft torque.
They loaded this motor down wot at 2000 rpm and it was registering 380 lb feet.
Its over 450 lb ft from 3300 to 5500 basically. Huge flat curve.
Motor is lower compression 400" sbc with brodix 200 cc heads and a smaller 218 deg at .050 hyd roller. Tpis miniram. No other details but figured i'd share. Throttles performance did the build

Gives me encouragement on my future 427 sbc build... That engine must idle silky smooth with that cam in a 400 cid engine.
My goal is ~500-520 hp, with smooth idle and very good street manners (basically a very stealthy 500 hp). So probably a cam around 224° @.050 would probably get me there.

I really need to tune mine and dyno it.

Now, if 600 was the goal, it'd be a different story... I think even a 427 sbc would get a little rambunctious to make that kind of power... streetability would probably suffer (at least the way I define streetability anyway)
