Re: Combo
That cam looks like a pontiac not SBC cam.
You may also want to get the spring specs of the heads. If you are using your camaro motor it is a stock roller cam. You do not want to downgrade to flat tappet.
Maybe upgrade to alex springs if you need to

Re: Combo
What is your plan for the rest of the engine? Factory 91 350 block? Staying TPI?

Yes 91 factory block I plan on taking it to a shop get it bored .30 over have them rebuild it with the heads and cam I want plus at the end of all this I plan on adding a procherger to it
the original plan is 355 sbc with https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-152123 with and a cam to match I can't find the cam link at the moment but once I get home I can show you

Re: Combo
You listed two very different heads. They will be almost a full point of compression difference. Also they require two different intake manifold bases if you are staying TPI

Re: Combo
Yes i know here is the cam i said earlier https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...RoCny4QAvD_BwE so it would be that and the summit heads
I see so many good combos on here with people make from 280hp to 340hp i just wish i could find a good combo that i could boost later down the road my plan is 480 to 500hp

Re: Combo
If i went with vortec heads 64cc i would need a new intake but if i went with the summit heads 72cc i could keep everything my compression ratio would be with 64cc heads is 9.61
and with 72cc its 8.87, what would you say would be better for boost

Re: Combo
8.9 is safer for boost but you need to decide what you are going to do. You cant run a decent NA cam on 8.9 so pick one and go that path

Re: Combo
You need to decide if you're going to use boost and a low compression heads or if you're going to use an NA motor in a higher compression heads that will decide your camshaft figure out your final goal and then we can help you figure out your parts

I want to go boosted but it will be a long while before i can get a procharger, i'm wondering could i run a cam for boost without boost for a while then supercharge it?

Re: Combo
I really like my World Products Torquer heads on my corvette with 67cc chambers but they are pocket ported.
But you say you will have the motor rebuilt then most likely you will replace the pistons can can choose what ever c.r. you want. That's the advantage of building a sbc chevy as there unlimited combinations to choose from. And parts are cheap to.
Supercharged motor and a NA motor are not the same and you have to make big compromises to use a motor for both.
Good luck.
