Just rescued '83 Crossfire Z28, needs stuff...
Just picked up a '83 Z28 Crossfire. Drove it home but it needs quite a bit of work. Morons have had their hands all over every system, allot of straightening out to do and will need parts as well. I will restore it as a crossfire car, updating and upgrading everything that is possible along the way. I am attaching a couple pics, if it lets me...

Re: Just rescued '83 Crossfire Z28, needs stuff...
First order of business, front end was all over the road on way home. Found out why and now wondering who else has had this problem, and the best way to go about fixing it. Steering gearbox mounting location is, less than in good condition... I unbolted the gearbox, the front anti sway bar and bracket, then cleaned off the paint. Looks kinda grim, how much trouble is this going to be to repair? Any guidance anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

Guess maybe I'll just have the cracks welded back together then grind it down and hope for the best

I see they liked using duct tape.

Yes, they also liked cutting and plugging off vacuum lines, rigging up toggle switches, and a bunch of other nonsense for me to take care of. Brings true meaning to "work in progress". She'll be beautiful again one day, I'll see to it.

I'm really hoping for the 323 gear. Is there a code anywhere that would tell, the plate on the radiator support maybe?

It is completely uncalled for to have filters this nasty on a car!

Ok, let the process begin! Got my little man helping me out, he enjoys everything about these cars...
That wasn't so bad....
I don't think I'll have any problem finding help to disassemble the engine, LOL

He's 11, likes to help with anything and everything, especially the car. Project just went on hold for awhile, I have to have surgery on my foot in a couple weeks. Won't be able to do anything at all for a few months. I was really hoping to drive her soon!
