LS/Trans choice

I'm sure this has been asked before but thanks for your input. Blew the front seal in my 700R4 at Open Track Day this weekend. No sweat as the trans owed me nothing. Thinking of making the complete LS jump. I want to stay with an auto. what is the most preferred combo? L76 6.0 aluminum block and heads from a 3/4 or 1 ton truck seems appealing. All thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 1991 RS currently has a 350 bored .060 with forged internals, flat tops etc in front of my 700R4 that is old and tired even with some mods. Thinking of making the jump to this century and since I'm pulling the engine and trans anyway I might as well go "all in".

Thanks in advance

Roy

Re: LS/Trans choice

best/strongest option with LS engine is 4L85E but with ecu/controller and new torque convertor, prop. mounting and fitting its not cheap.
cheap option is rebuilt and upgraded 700R4, though a 4L60e would give a few more options, but is basically an ecu controlled 700r4
if you don't do much highway driving a TH350 is stronger than a 700R4 but no overdrive
depends how big your budget is
