$21K would be fair if this car had only 10% the miles it currently has, ran, didn't have 25 year old gas that has turned into varnish, didn't need Lord knows what mechanical work and tires, paint was detailed to perfection......and oh, didn't need new center caps.

I'm not following the logic of "I'm not going to wash it". Just makes it seem like it couldn't have been well kept or maintained. The mileage isn't low enough to make up for the way it's been kept, and how it currently is presented. It's a $4,000 project until someone cleans it up, and gets it running and driving. Assuming it looked perfect, and functioned 100% after being cleaned and serviced, I'd probably put another $10k on the table, but it's a whole lotta nothing 86 Iroc until that happens.

Because they are under the impression that that a dirty car looks more "barn fresh" and will add a premium to the car's price.

$21K is absolutely insane.......WOW.
$10k for the blue one is a lot closer to reality, anyways.....I'd love to see it cleaned up.

Another example of a poorly preserved low mile car..
don’t these people realize the way they “stored” it they might as well beat the snot out of it for 200k miles and parked it on a front lawn all year round?
I guess they don’t want to “damage” the original paint that they already damaged since washing it might take the paint off too!
Car is worthless.. What a shame..

They are asking someone to pay for the evidence of long storage as if that add to the value......
There have been a handful of rare & real barn cars where it has been very cool to see the decades of dust & dirt. Cars like that "brand new" black iroc in that semi trailer years ago that had decades of dust that managed to get on the car within the locked trailer it was stored in. the car was truly never daily driven. I can relate to the nostalgia of that dust & dirt the way it signifies the time it was stored. But, cars like that are the exception. Here you have a std run of mill 86 that is nothing special. 14 miles or 1400 miles, then I get it. Its just a low mile car that needs to be brought to running condition & then it will be worth something to someone. There is nothing there that makes this non-running car attractive. Price is crazy, pay 20K, clean it, take all the risk, hope it needs nothing major & then loose your butt on your investment after you take all the risk. While I think its cool, that dust & non running condition is absolutley worthless with that car.
Quote: "barn find as they say" I have come to loathe that term. It's waaaay over played.

This car has 40k. So it probably has some dings and front end chips at the very least. Interior probably has some wear. And someone just let it sit and seize up. They don’t seem to understand how that black IROC was different.
People are selling cars like this with 40-70k miles that have been kept in good condition, driven sparingly and maintained every year for $10k-15k. It’s insulting these people want $20k just because no one touched the car in 25 years as if that’s a selling point..

The dirt is a nice touch if this were a 40K mile Boss 429 "barn find" on it's way to BJ.

Why do u folks say the price is too much? How much are they beggin' for of that red Z found in the storage trailer in Jersey?
$25-26 K ? Still? and its been a couple o years. Sure that one only had 8 miles, peanut 305, but still unsold last time I saw it.
REmember cash in hand talks big and a more reasonable deal can be reached !

It didn’t have the tensioner so you had to pry the alternator into place and tighten it. 88 was first year of the belt tensioner and the alternator moved to the other side of the motor.

Only thing that car is good for now is a starting point for an LS swap.
I let dust collect on my car for many years. That was a mistake! The dirt will bond to the paint given time. It took a professional 12 hours to clean it. I'm not sure other people are always so lucky.
