7747 problems

Here's the basics:350 Chevy crate (10067353), GM Crossfire, 1227747 with 28 pin zif socket(http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...sh+conversion), Moates APU1(autoprom) and chips, BIN ARHT, $42. Trying to bench test the ECM before I install in vehicle. I verified ground at the ECM and the manifold/injection assembly, then applied power to B1/C16. Then supplied power to A6, SES lamp, and ESC module. The SES light never flashed when energized, I dont show a voltage reading on the Tuner Pro RT dashboard, or a 5v reference at the TPS or MAP sensor. Touching the ses wire to the ECM case will light it so the ecm is not sending a ground out to A5 upon power up. Have tried with and without a chip in the ECM. Is the ECM dead? Also how do I verify the BIN is installed on the chip correctly (offset) or is it automatic with the APU1? 28 pin conversion socket was checked for continuity and tested ok. . Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Cal

Re: 7747 problems

Either the ECM is dead or the chip socket install was botched. With no PROM installed and the ECM powered up the SES light should flicker rapidly. If not then something is wrong with the ECM.

RBob.

Thank you. I ohmed the socket connections and all seemed good. I will pick up another ECM this week.

Re: 7747 problems

I'm curious about this setup. Would it run ok with a stock 7747 ECM and a stock 350 TBI chip? Assume the engine is a stock 350... I know you'll get better performance with a custom tune, but that's beyond my scope of talent... LOL!
