Arctic White 91 RS

Thought it would be cool to have a list of mainstream media TV shows and movies that feature 3rd Gen's.

I noticed the Americans a spy thriller about sleeper KGB agents that ran for six years had a sweet 3rd Gen Z28 that was show for several seasons.

Anyone know details about the car?

There should be a sticky thread on this topic... One of the rare cases a thread should be bumped to add to the list.

IMCDB.org does a fair job of documenting movie cars. They don't know a 70 from a 95, but they try. Between Camaros and Firebirds/Trans Ams, they have about 5,000 entries, but they aren't broken down by year, and the year is usually incorrect anyway.

In a number of street scenes in various Seinfeld episodes, you'll see the same cars drive by or parked. They must have been cars owned by the crew. One of those is an Z-28. Another is a Mitsubishi Starion.

It might have just been because the Mitsu was broken down. In the last 25 years I've seen many multitudes more of StarQuests sinking into muddy driveways and fields than ever driving on the roads. Seems to be their natural state.

My roommate back in 1989-90 drove a Starion. Silver just like this one. Fun car to drive, though overweight. I don't think he had any issues with it other than the sunroof leaking badly.

This was mentioned in the old thread, but here it is again since this thread is popular:
In the Showtime series "Dexter" (one of my all time favorites) there is a dark green (possibly black?) GTA that shows up randomly throughout all 8 seasons. A couple of times we see it driving, but most of the time it's just parked somewhere. What's most interesting to me is that in some shots the headlights are up (as if the motors don't work) and in some shots they are down. Peculiar!


When the series ended, a ton of stuff was auctioned off including Dexter's boat, but I never the saw the GTA auctioned and haven't seen it since.

Doesn't it kind of creep you out when someone tells you they don't like these cars? I understand not buying one; they don't suit everyone's lifestyle. But how can someone not like this car? I have friends that just don't get it. That think I have terrible taste in cars and couldn't believe when I once again bought a 3rd gen this year. Almost makes you rethink the whole relationship.

Luckily nobody close to me dislikes my car except of course my mom.. but I do find it pretty crazy when I'm driving my car and barely any people even glance at it. On the rare occasion that I spot another third gen on the road I go nuts, nevermind another GTA. Third gens are just so damn cool looking

Actually, when I take my car out now, I get a lot of admiring looks, some questions, and even the occasional "Is it for sale?" When your car is thirty years old and in great shape, it stands out from the crowd since it's pretty rare.

Killer Instinct. S2 the episode is call "wrong place, deadly time" The suspect drove a black Camaro. Not sure the year.

Yep, I noticed that too. Was hoping for more third gen action but at least we were represented to some degree.

I liked the Impala SS that Fury drove. My BIL just sold a 96 that looked a lot like it.
