Is there away to determine what day your car was built, beyond just the month?

Dan's Car is one of the great historic gen 3 cars precisely because of the human story behind it.
This car belongs in a museum some day.

You will never see a modern car from like 2017 or 2018 in 33 years... all the electronic gremlins and horrific prices for the parts will let them vanish from the streets after a few years. And todays cars don't have a heart or soul or whatever you'll want to call it...

I love the car, and love the story. Awesome! ....out of curiousity, how do you know, to the minute, when you first started it? Is that event typically documented somewhere? -or did you just think ahead and document for your own knowledge?

Re: 33 Years Ago Today to the minute At Norwood!
I've always wondered how accurate the build date on a car's build sheet is- Is it when the floor pan is first stamped? When the car is actually complete? Or just a general hoped for scheduling thing?

Not really. Unless you bave an inside scoop. You can get some of them to the week. The body broadcast sheet (not build sheet) was scheduled 2 weeks or so out so my Body build sheet has a date of 12-14-84, but my build date was Jan 2-4 85. my car started at 11am on the 2nd and came off the line around 5 pm on the 4th.

My dad worked at Norwood then I was lucky enough to get on there also. So we knew from friends in the scheduling department what day it was suppose to start. Then we calculated how many units it was to mine frrom the body build number that stsrted that day. we determined it would start around 11. When we got there they were 3 away from it. Almost missed it. Then just hung out till 11pm then back in at 6am to 11p then back at 6am til 8pm. Then went back on Sunday just to check it out in the storage lot..lol I only wish we could have pushed the camera issue. surely someone would have taken picture or two for me. Oh well!

I believe nothing was stamped or made at either Norwood or Van Nuys, everything was brought in and assembled on site.
