Big trouble
Here's the info. 88 Camaro with TBI. Turns over and that's about it. Fuel pump works to. When I got it the fuel pump fuse was blown. The Po hacked wiring bad. Would start with starting fluid. So coil did work. I pulled the engine harness and installed another clean one. Turn key on and no engine light or anything. Po had 30 amp fuse for ECM and 20 for each injector. I tested the fusable link near battery going to ECM and it's good. I have no power to injectors, coil or fuse box for ECM and injectors so far. Where do I go from here?

Re: Big trouble
There might be differences in both locations. This unfortunately this doesn't show 88. hopefully someone has c100 and c207 so you can compare the two.

check for power at the ecm with the key on pin a6 a pink/black wire.

Re: Big trouble
I haven't had any lights come on. Most of the interior is out. Trying to get it running and haven't looked into headlights or any of that stuff. I did check the wiring at the starter. Two in line fuses were cut out and spliced together. The wiring all has 12v on each side of fuses and or splices. It will turn over with the ignition switch. I do have fuel pump working. I will check the c207 wire tomorrow.

Re: Big trouble
The harness came out of a 88 model Camaro. I know that doesn't mean that is what it is. I think my trouble is the fuse box or wiring in that area. My 88 and 89 Firebirds both have a blade fuse in a big pink to pink/white I think are the colors. that I can not find in Camaro. And Po cut and spliced stuff. I will compare the two harness

Re: Big trouble
I do have power to some of the fuse box. The pink wire to the post for lights crank and a few other things are hot with key off. Big pink wire engine side of fire wall is hot just before it goes into the connector. So at the fuse box some pink hot some not. Should the pink wire to the post on back side of box for ECM fuse be hot at all times? I forgot to check it with key on.. fuel injector post line in had no power with key off either. Basically left side is dead. I'm going to disconnect and reconnect the harness and see if it helps. Next I guess I will have to drop the dash.

Re: Big trouble
Here's what I've learned. The big pink wire on engine side of c100 has no power from battery. I've got the connector apart at this time. The pink wire pin number on wire shamanic off austinthiirdgen is f4. Now when I take o jump wire to the fuse box and hook it up to the hot post for the ECM, gauge, I have 12volts to f4 f5. Also have 8 vats to e5 and 5volts to pins c6 and a4. Is f4 supposed to be hot from battery going to fuse box.or does it get power from the fuse box?

Re: Big trouble
Here’s a 92 schematic looks like there is a splice and the ignition switch controls injectors and turn signals.

Re: Big trouble
Ok. I just don't get what all happens when I turn the key to start. Power comes into fuse box through the firewall c100 big red wire.bto get there does it go to the starter first from the battery? Power at fuse box ignition or crank. How does the ignition key open the circuit to power the ECM pins and injectors in the fuse box? Is it by grounding or what? The motor turns over and fuel pump works but turning the key on dose no power ECM or coil or injectors. Unless I run a direct wire. Also should the f5 pin have 12v? I'm trying not to take the dash out. Looks like I'm out of options.

Re: Big trouble
Thank you very much. Another question. Where are ckt 340 and 439? I have a sheet list of connectors from c00 to s218.: tells me location and how many cavities. These are not on the list. I wish I could get a service manual. Anyone take checks anymore?

Re: Big trouble
Power to both 340 wire. 439 nothing. Just wondering. I had the ECM disconnected from the harness in one test and no lights on or ignition switch. When I started to connect the ground to the battery there's a small spark like there's something on in the car. Is this normal?

Re: Big trouble
Keep in mind some people have a wrong impression of what different parts of the car are called. I thought the ignition switch was the ignition key cylinder.. that's why I couldn't figure out how power went through it. Went to parts store and they pulled up a switch and I was surprised to see what it displayed. I have a few laying around I can try at no cost.

Re: Big trouble
I ground to body and tested with only the very low reading.. I'm going to replace the switch now anyway..them two hot wires come off the fuse box? If they do, which fuses? I will look over the previous post for the answer Incase I missed the answer. I do have power to the engine side of firewall c100 on a4 pin. Right side of box hot. Lights and such. I think I have a fried in 2 wire or two. Looks like dash is coming out next.

Re: Big trouble
Update. First I would like to thank all for your help. I put a lot of time in and parts I've had laying around. The problem was that one of the previous owner had taken a major fuse out and burned out the ignition switch. I changed engine harness. Steering column from non tilt to tilt. I had a good switch for it and I like them better to. Checked the dash wiring out and installed it into a dash out of a 86 Camaro that was factory a/c. Changed the heater box while dash was out. It started!!😊
