Firebird center console lid hinge anchor

Does anyone have a picture of the little plate that mounts inside the console that the lid spring hooks into? I got a new console and it is missing. I'd like to find one/make one before bolting it all down, but I need something to work from, even specs would be nice. Thanks in advance!

Re: Firebird center console lid hinge anchor

You mean the arm on the bottom of the armrest, or the metal clip/pivot in the console?

I'm gonna assume you mean the console since the other bit is riveted to the armrest.

That is exactly what I meant. That is awesome! Thanks for the help with that, those pictures are priceless to me!

Does anyone out there have one of these laying around by chance? Google gives me nothing!

Best bet would be to find a clip nut, U nut, speed nut, at the local hardware store that would be close enough to work. I'd say it's safe to assume I probably have a couple more laying around somewhere, but the value is so small it's the kind of thing that's not worth selling.

GM part number was 10034306 if that helps.

Yup, just as I figured, that isn't available any longer, couldn't cross it over to HELP! line or Dorman either...it'll be a holy grail if any GM dealer in the country would have one in their inventory. I may just try to make one myself, shouldn't be too hard, and nobody's gonna see it anyway. Or, like you say, look at the options at the hardware store. Thank you!

I know this thread is 2 years old but I’m just now discovering this mechanism. What does the spring do? Mine has never worked so I don’t have any reference.

The spring essentially holds the center console lid either open or closed.

Click on the appropriate board, Body, Electronics, Cooling, Exhaust, ect, ect
On the appropriate board, top left side, not quite the very top top there should be a tab with a plus sign that says "New Thread"
Click on New Thread and from there you can fill in the Title field and below that fill in Message field with your questions/concerns/statement, ect
Hope this helps?
