WTT; T5 trans for a Corvette ZF6 trans. That's right...
....I HAVE, an excellent working/shifting/running ZF6 trans in my '89 Corvette. I WANT or am interested in, trading for a complete T5 assy. Why? I'm looking for less weight. The T5 weighs about 1/2 what the mighty ZF6 weighs.
My car is running driving, so my end of the trade could include everything from the crankshaft to the drive shaft.
I'm in PARK CITY, UT.

So you want pedals to shifter T5 set up? Pedals, clutch, flywheel, trans and shifter? How often do you come up to Oregon lol. I'm assuming the driveshaft us is the same or no?

*I don't need the F-bod pedals since the 'Vette already has 3 pedals.
*I don't need the cross member, as I'd be making an adaptor to use the Corvette C-beam
*I DO need FW (for 1 pc rms), clutch, TOB, fork and slave, shifter.
*I DO need the slip yoke.
All the parts that I need from the 3rd gen, would be available from the 'Vette, as part of this swap; the ZF shifter, clutch, TOB, Fork snd slave, Dual mass flywheel, bell housing and slip yoke.
The 'Vette driveshaft is too short for an F-bod and vice versa.

Thanks! Roadkill is what gave me the idea. Mine still needs paint, dash, some interior, better wheels, more motor, and on and on, and on....
I weighed it recently and it comes in at 2280 lbs. I dyno'ed it too and it did 240/342 at the wheels, so it goes pretty good already, but you know. MOAR!
Let me know if you (or anyone) wants to trade a butter-shifting, BOMB PROOF 6 speed transmissions for a weak, pin-pin, 5 speed.

It can't be that hard. Make an adapter from the crossmember to the tranny. How did SLP do it in the Firehawk?
Use a changeover U-joint to connect the stock f-body driveshaft to the Corvette slip yoke, then bolt it all together.
It's easier than getting a T5 to hook up to the Corvette c beam! :-)

I took the Frisbee off, eliminated the air filter as you can see in the pictures, I built a dual exhaust, no cats and straight through bullet style Mufflers that come out in front of the rear wheels. Still running stock manifolds. I Advanced the timing a little bit, and I put an entirely new front accessory assembly on it to clean it up. I'm sure that didn't affect power at all. That's about it. One of the sickest mods that I have done to the engine is that I put Buick 3.8 liter injectors in 5 of the cylinders.
In reality, the exhaust is the only meaningful mod.

I don't know what exactly it would require, but the general consensus here on the board is that the ZF would be a nearly complete fabrication install, including re-shaping the trans tunnel and fabricating/modifying a bellhousing to work. Seems that the Firehawk and the 92 25th anniversary prototypes were pretty heavily modified to shoehorn the transmission in.
What's wrong with using the 'Vette bell housing?
EDIT: The slave hits the F-bod floor pan. Work around: use a TOB/Slave assy.
