Hmm not looking good attendance-wise for the dragstrip tomorrow. RamAir isn't gonna make it. Haven't heard from 92Firebird and my local friend isn't gonna make it either. Still, I might go if anyone else goes. I did put a special 14.5 psi tune in tonight so it would be entertaining to see what happens.

We are heading back early in the morning, my uncle started doing better so we decided to bring the kids back. If I get back in time I might make it. How late are they open?

Didn't work on the existing laptop, bought a new, ridiculously expensive HP, results still TBD.

Alright looking good for this weekend Sunday... temps in the 50's no rain. Got RamAirZ confirmed and I should be going pending an investigation into my coolant leak. Several friend of mine going so it should be a fun day at the track.
Anyone else gonna show?

Panama City here as well, transplanted from Ft Walton Beach in 2000. Have a white '91 w/305. Had no idea our thirdgens were so represented in the panhandle. Am sure I've seen all of you on the road over the years. Would enjoy meeting up with fellow enthusiasts to talk shop!

Well cool deal... come up to the drag strip tomorrow! 92Firebird305 said he's coming and RamAirZ is as well. Would love to meet some other third genner's here in PC, I only know a couple and none from the forum except RamAirZ, but he's 4th gen now.

RamAirZ doing a lonnng 2.73 burnout. I just realized he was just about at half track before shifting into second! Time for gears me thinks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AghKU3eKXCc
Me handing it to a pretty quick lil 5.0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9zQ84-32CY
The quick 5.0 giving RamAirZ a bit of a spanking

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
stock cam, after the track yesterday there's no way lol. That last run with the 5.0 was my worst run of the day and after the hypertech tune, lost 2.5mph (82 on that run) and a full tenth. Stock tune is back in it now. My car is running super rich too. Hoping to get it worked out before our next trip. It REALLY needs a stall, and I wasn't trying to save my DR's Steve lol. The longest burnout of the day netted my worst 60ft, 2.0 on 2.73's and stock stall is the norm, sucks cuz I was so pissed I couldn't get it down in the 1's. Had alot of fun out there, Steve's car is running great for a stock 350 and on street tires lol, and that Mustang is really quick, not a bad driver either.
edit: Just went through my timeslips, my best run was the first run of the day lol. 8.711@83.74 with 2.081 60, Best 60ft was 2.070 all day, and best mph was 84.02

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
Yeah in that burnout video you can see the black smoke rolling as you get up in the rpm. If you're trapping 84 mph with that tune you won't have a problem handling that mustang with a tune and the right converter/gear combo.
I still say rear mount turbo!! No, wait... I don't want to get beat LOL

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
lol! I actually might be getting rid of this toy and building something that's not a DD, text me for info. Got a nice offer yesterday. I thought trapping 84 with my 60ft was pretty good, I think with just a converter change I'd see a huge difference. I honestly didn't feel it spin much at all off the line.

It seems like our center of mass may be somewhere between Pensacola and Destin with a few out by Panama City.
I hear Pensacola has the Burger King meet most Saturday nights. Has anybody been to it or does anyone know more info?
Maybe we can pick a weekend and all try to meet up at the event...

I used to go to the BK meets when I lived there, usually a decent turnout (nothing huge) and they organize it and have oldies music and what not.

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
Could be a good spot to potentially meet up... maybe find a weekend with good weather and go. What club runs it?
Also, there's this coming up in Panama City:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125016
It's a Florida Mopar show but supposedly open to all types of cars.

Pensacola is a long haul for us from PC. I have a friend over there I can stay with though and I'm always up for a ride. Destin is close to everyone though. Not more than 1:15 hr from any of us.

It was actually a flyer posted on their website... it's not a Camaro 5 event. It's a Mopar Club classic car event in Panama City, and they're open to all cars (non-Mopars).
Here's a sterile, non-Camaro5 link

I'm familiar with the show, went last year. It's a LX group circlejerk, where they see how many ways they can sensationalize their platform, and pretend to like the Gen 5 Camaros just to draw a few entrants. The only redeeming quality outside of a few charity dollars raised was that the Camaro 5 guys didn't realize the Mopar guys were looking down their noses at them. Car shows for the most part have become cult gatherings, where everyone is better than you. I'm having a car show at my house next weekend- Because I can.

Nothing official at the moment. Pretty soon the Panama City car clubs will start up their saturday evening events. That would be a cool place to meet up.. basically an unofficial car show that is held at various locations around town almost every saturday evening of the year (except in the winter). We just all drive up and park together and hang out.

Theres quite a few "rycers" at the meets at the swamp that would hand us our butts on a platter in a race.....its quite a large meet up and everyone usually maintains a certain respect that modifying cars to make them go fast and look good is pretty universal regardless of what you drive.....

Yes I know a bunch of those swamp guys thru a local forum. So does 02 WS6 and I think he'll agree that they really don't give a sh_t for domestic rwd's. You could have a turbo 9 second ride but they'd still be much more impressed with a 240 running 13 seconds. I bet 02 WS6 concurs.
Still, I'd roll up there with some other third gens. I don't mind getting laughed at and I like my car.. that's why I chose it! And I'll never understand the idea behind 'building' a stripped out civic and then complaining about 60 foot times!

Half the fun in this hobby is to make fun of the styles of vehicles you didn't choose for yourself. All that respect crap just takes away from the fun!
