Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
Half the fun in this hobby is to make fun of the styles of vehicles you didn't choose for yourself. All that respect crap just takes away from the fun!
Yes I know a bunch of those swamp guys thru a local forum. So does 02 WS6 and I think he'll agree that they really don't give a sh_t for domestic rwd's. You could have a turbo 9 second ride but they'd still be much more impressed with a 240 running 13 seconds. I bet 02 WS6 concurs.
Still, I'd roll up there with some other third gens. I don't mind getting laughed at and I like my car.. that's why I chose it! And I'll never understand the idea behind 'building' a stripped out civic and then complaining about 60 foot times!

Damn it is cold already and its only 3. Probably will ruin what could have been a good turnout. Will have to think this over.

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
I can agree, but the rycerz Steve is refrring too are so blinded by ignorance and douchenozzlery they can't see the forest for the trees. One of their 500 WHP Neons called me out in one of the bolt on F bods a few years ago, he got smacked down to the tune of about 5 cars from 30-110, and yet they still make out like RWD V8s are lame. I've spent 5 years trying to find one stupid enough to bow up on the '02. Still no takers.

Yep I made it over.. I guess you were there and gone before I got there around 8:20. It was a pretty short lived event - gotta love cold weather in Florida! Mine is about to retire for the next month or so while its being painted then I'll be back on the roads.

Ran 9.03 at 75mph today. Not terrible for a pretty much stock 350 Z28 with a full tank of gas and full interior/stereo

The Destin Commons grass roots meet and greet (and similar informal events) is a much better time.

Wow, we're getting quite a crew of third gens together. We've got to all meet up soon. Plenty of places to cruise to and meet up around here in the spring and summer!

Hi KMK. I'm in Panama City with a white '91. Bought it from Preston Hood in Dec '95. It would be cool to meet up with other third genners.

don't have a 3rd gen at the moment but I'm always down for a meet/greet. I'm doing an auto to manual swap on my buddies truck next week if anyone wants to make a wrench-fest out of it.

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
Apparently so are 87 turbo Iroc drivers. I cant seem to make it a day in a forum without someone telling me otherwise or being offended. Good thing I got the paint project to distract me from the insanity of the internets. God help us all when I offer a bit of transmission advice to someone. Long story.

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
I saw 3 clean 3rd gens the other day. A white 1991 RS with T-Tops, a late 80's red Trans-Am, and a white 92 Z28. All where in the Ft. Walton to Destin area...
Definitely seems like a lot of these cars around here.
What's the Destin Commons Grassroots Meet & Greet?

There's a nice red/black 91-92' firebird vert near me on GTA wheels and an 88-89 black Iroc that's really clean, he has the sport coupe tails though. If no one is down to help on the Zu' I'll be mocking up some turbo stuff haha

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
How good are you with body filler work? I'm nearing the end of the rope on this fender flare. I think I might have it worked but it all depends on how this next application of filler sands. Lot of curves to deal with here.. probably not the best thing to learn with LOL

lol I'm pretty decent with it. I've done some work on our old shop cars, shaved the tailgate on my old Z71, and did all the body work on my 67' K10

Re: Florida Panhandle! Who's here?
That would be me I am amazed and impressed that after living here for 10 years I've had a least a half dozen offers to buy my '91. When I bought her in '95 I told myself I was going to keep her until she fell apart. So far so good!

I drive by your car at least 3 times a week lol. I always feel bad for it sitting out there in the sun every day, but it is a great looking car! Do you know that guy around the corner with the red Iroc? Richard I believe his name is. Funny thing is my Iroc came from your neighborhood too lol.. about a block away from you in fact.
