Why couldnt i just need a 82-92 camaro hood. Thanks for the help on my hood search and if u see any in your area...would be greatful
If I ever hit the loto, I would have a trans am grave yard, largest I could have. Then bring basck Trans Am Specialties (my uncle Jay Kloss partnered in the orignal, cherry hill nj)

But thats cool, I look forward to seeing more of what you have.
I ben actually looking for another TA and am always hunting parts sobif I find something ill let you know, asap.
Although, you did kinda use the wrong word, fit correctly...ummmm...yeah, I have seen the 400hardwood hoods fail at this.
The hard part is finding a 82/92 hood that dont have smashed corners or need fibergladd work (cracks)
This is why I just make my own, they fit n look good, plus its just how I wsnt it.
N at cost (as im sure you know) alotbofvtimes its just cheaper.

Ill have to send you a pic of my newest top secret hood...hint "carbon".
if I get this first proto right I was thinking of a pro am style at 3"

But shhhhhhh, we see when done.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

Hey Guys,

Ok. So am gonna try to get an idea of the Meet and Greet for this weekend.

It was suggested to meet locally a few times, which i am very cool with and have no hurt feelings.
I cant say i am the best cook anyway and that could be something we do later on when we get a good group of ppl over...i imagine it be alittle more entertaining

Some of the suggestions were KingStreet Grilli, Hooters and I think Applebees...or something like that.

So the question really comes down to...
Where and Who?

I persoanlly would like to see atleast a table full of us (4-5) for Sat and please offer suggestions on where...wouldnt be a bad idea to change up either, but let see what we can work out by Friday!

so between now and then let get a show of hands and some suggestions on where...

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

I am still good for this Saturday. Gilligans would be awesome, but I am sure some people probably arent huge seafood lovers like me. So, my second vote would be Hooters. And I am down to go to a cookout as well.

I am thinking it should basically be your call BlackTop since you started the thread and the great idea.

I'll be there as long as it's on Saturday. I'll be in Rockingham Sunday for the truck race if anyone is interested in going let me know and we can meet there.

Tazz, you need a ride for Saturday, I'll be going right through your area?

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

Good to see some chatter from some SC people on these boards again. Granted you guys aren't exactly right down the road from me but its a start lol. I'd love to be able to participate in some get togethers/cruise-ins/car shows/etc. this summer once I get my car back on the road either here or down there.

It was great to put some faces with screen names today. Thanks again for the meal blacktop. Let me know the next time you are working in the area and lunch is on me. Forgot I've got access to a mobile home at the beach that you could have called home last week.

Glad you got work Tazz, some aren't that lucky. I found some more of my old parts in the attic, manual window regulators, set of maro taillights, door panels, and some kick panels and other trim. I know there's more including some mechanical stuff, just let us know what u need.

Well I really intend to do more.
N
Honestly, I am hoping to build it into more.
Would be awesome to do some cruses shows, events n all.

Expecially when there are things going on in the state related, to have a good of great 3rdgen owns to share in with, is just blast.
Plus its a great way for ppl to connect, not just with me but others locally.

There used to be. The South Carolina F-Body Association was about two years old when we were sort of forced to disband when the economy went south back in 08 and several members (myself included) no longer had running f-bodies and/or couldn't afford to make the trips to get together anymore. I'd love it if we could gather enough interest statewide to resurrect SCFBA.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

I believe there is a show in Hemmingway this weekend in conjunction with a **** and bbq festival. I've got several things that need done here at home also but if some other third gen owners want to go I'll be there.

Side note, on the way to a shop in Johns Island got in the middle of a high speed chase. Apparently someone got in a fender bender and decided they weren't waiting for the ticket. Blew by me at a light then two cops came by me flying. Didn't know how to tell them the Explorer they were chasing had done got on a side road about a half mile before. Priceless entertainment. LOL

yeah I heard about that by association happen to close down, Truely a shame.
and I honestly have had the same thought, even if it was just a hand for members'
to me it would be worth the effort I'm in energy to do so.

hey my personal experience with clubs and associations.
I believe its very important not only 2 know " who we are" but " what we do"...
an open house and mind a group of people, where projects restorations stock and Modifieds are as equal. younger and older fans are welcome and a group that participates in something more than just parking lot car shows.
leave that for the import kids...
swapz meats and car shows are cool, cruises are fun
But benifit events are too.

Ive found most of the fbody (3rdgen owners) like our cars not only because of how do I look up because they are fun... Mo's on urs love to have fun with their cars.

when I had Wicked Concepts 99/03, not only do we do cruises and go places, but we went somewhere as a group to participate as a group... track days, show runs, to even birthday events.... we even did fundraisers to raise money for ourselves, so that at the end of the year we could do a picnic where the kids the wives and friends came.
music vendors food and games....it wss a blast.

for us fbody guys, keping the car n the hobby of it should be what we are aiming at. because I want plain time they were THE CAR
to have to be in to be by!!!

and to be honest at this direction...3rdgen are getting swallowd up.
I think more industry and more markets would pay attention locally when they see people getting involved....

still to this day, nothing like a group if firebird ta n camaro roaming!!!!

. so I guess we'll see how the summer goes, but I know I be first in line to do something.

finding is the easy part hood people are the challenge
and sometimes smaller is better, because you know that everyone there is there for the same reason

LOL
lol....its like 3,d TV

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

My sister lives in Charleston. It's not too far, but makes for a boring drive, lol! Nothing but trees on both sides!
