Anyone know a good F-Body 3rd Gen mechanic in the Tampa area?
Hey guys,
I believe I threw a rod on my GTA... car has been sitting for about a year and I want to get her running again. Does anyone know of a reputable/good mechanic in the Tampa area? I'm wanting someone who knows our cars and also maybe looking to add some headers while the work is being done.
Thanks..
PONG

I have an 88 iroc I tok to a guy in Land O Lakes.
He is great guy really a car nut. and professional quad racer as well. Gear head. Good sign for me was his placed is packed and he is always flipping cars. All ages. But he is a chevy guy for sure. In the last 3 months I met him I have seen no less then 2 new motors built by hand and 3 rebuilds in addition to all the general maint.
Super CHEAP and FAIR IMHO BUT he is so busy, any project car, he will warn you will take back seat and could be a little slow. He only has one lift (adding a 2nd now) so he has to balance daily driver customers that need their car back asap.
He swapped a tranny, new fuel pump, new fuel tank, cleaned the fuel system, replaced the steering column, cleaned the brakes system removed pads cleaned up bearings etc, all new fluids parts and labor for the whole job was $1400
He said he can rebuild engines, good ones, for 1800-2500 depending and $700-500 for labor a swap, my estimates.
He had a nice thirdgen he rebuilt prior to me. Pulled the TPI and went with a 355 carb. He likes the new holy carb setups. so easy and amount free and street drivable he swears by them.
He said that car was a real screamer on the street for sure and drove great still on road no issues 3+ years
He knew all the in/outs of my car TPS voltages etc.

I'm hearing good things about 360Customs in Brandon area, off of 60....Their website also shows that they are F-Body specialists too, HOWEVER, I haven't had them do anything to my '89 yet, but I'm seriously considering it. If anyone has any feedback about them, I would love to hear from you.

Suspension refurb on the front, hoses and gaskets replaced on the motor. On the body shop side, I saw a little rust developing in the t-top area, I need to get that taken care of as well.
