L98 Shop - Jacksonville, FL
Greetings... Have a 1985 Jaguar XJS with a 1989 350 L98 motor with TPI in it. Looking for a shop who can sort out some of the misfiring, poor throttle response and stalling at low RPM issues. Ideally one who can sort that and then assist in some power mods once the stock config is running smooth.
Any ideas?

I am in Jax, no shops that i know of mess with tpi cars. EFI alchemy does mostly ls1 stuff, Tony in Orange Park does mostly everything except tpi stuff.
I used to burn my own chips for my 89 TPI car, but sold off most all of my tuning stuff like autoxray and chip burner and data cable when i converted to the ls1 pcm.
What issues is it having? I can tell you what to buy to diagnose or can see if my friend still has his chip burning gear and borrow it from him.

Thanks. Running rough, misfiring sometimes, occasional backfire, smell gas.

Re: L98 Shop - Jacksonville, FL
i just read the story, great read. i would suggest getting the equipment in the link above so you can diagnose issues in the future or an old autoxray-240 handheld scanner like i used to have. i sold mine in the classifieds for like $30 bucks, you should be able to find one on ebay for cheap if you don't want the prom-burning equipment. the worst thing you can do with a fuel injected car is chase your tail, you need to see what the ecm is doing before you start to make mechanical changes
