Junkyard cars

If anyone needs anything for an 85 Trans Am, there's a gold one sitting at LKQ in Chattanooga. Also a LT Trans Am if anyone wants an LT. looks like a stick shift, but I can't tell.

Re: Junkyard cars

Really??? That car is sitting in a junk yard? What a shame. Is the other side totalled, or something?

Nope, it looked fine. Interior was a bit rough. Normally I only see v6 fbodies in the junkyards, but I rarely see an actual Trans Am. Pretty sad, I'm sure he could have sold it for more than the junkyard gave him.

Unfortunately not anymore now that it is in the yard. The paint looks to be in such good shape judging by the pictures that it would be an ideal swap if the motor isn't salvageable. Definitely worth more than what the yard paid them.

Once in the yard, they can no longer sell the car. I don't know if locations are different, but in TX and here in FL, I believe once in the yard and they register it, there is no going back.

Re: Junkyard cars

The car is just a base model Trans Am with a TPI. That's it. But I do agree the gold cars are very rare. Hate to see it there. Only ever seen a handful in gold. By far the rarest color for the 85-86 model years.

Re: Junkyard cars

My Trans Am was actually in a junkyard in another state and was somehow able to get rescued by a previous owner...no idea how they managed that. I've tried to buy whole cars off of junkyards here and they just don't allow it. It's sad but hopefully those parts go to help another car. The interior looked pretty rough, the owner probably didn't see any value in it and just trashed it
