Here it is......

I finally got my car back together after being down all summer for a major overhaul. After 5 years of the first build up, I was really bored with my car's appearance so I went with the race car look. I always like the IROC race cars that raced in the Nascar IROC series, so I took some ideas from that and some current race cars to make a street legal style race car.
Mods were: removed the window weather strip, drip rails and smooth opening completely, Aluminum dash, A pillars and plates added to current cage, removed all interior plastic and carpet, shifter box fabricated, dry break fuel filler, 10 gal. aluminum fuel cell, aluminum door panels and top plates, removed side windows, lexan winshield, and the decals to finish it off. The engine bay is still the same but I will be adding the front bars soon....all work done at home in my garage by me, because I have nothing better to do..lol...when I open my new paint shop in 2010 I will put "Franks Custom Paint" on the 1/4 panels...lol............Frank

Re: Here it is......

Beautiful car

Other than windshield wipers and front signal lites, what would it
take to make that street legal?

Oh yea, Smog, Phoenix car.

Again, nice job

Just noted it had plates on it, curious.
You stated street legal race car.

Re: Here it is......

As to the collector car insurance what if any are the restrictions
placed on the car?
Milage/Storage/Drivers/ect.

We have an 87 Iroc showcar, (heavily Modified) and getting ready to go
with Grundy, same type of insurance.

Just curious.

Hey Frank, my name is Travis. I too am building a car based on the looks of the old IROC series. I just stumbled across your build when googling camaros. I see you went with the drybreak fuel filler. Is that a pain at all to use at the gas station? Did you have to make any adaptation to use a regular pump to fill it?
Thanks for your time.

Frank last signed in 2 years ago. Keep researching. I don't know that he'll see this.
