Re: Arizona Roll Call!

I Just dropped my tank and will be installing an autozone fuel pump tonight, so wish me luck for the car to turn on and be running. Just in time for the Cruise . Wish I had some help in dropping my tank, its a real easy job with the right tools and another set of hands. Not to mention having a on floor jacks and having to cut up the exhaust (previous owner had it all welded together, who needs clamps)

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

you can upload pictures (up to 3) and to do that click the "go advanced" option right next to the "post quick reply" button below the text box.

then it takes you to a new screen and you click on the paperclip icon up top

it brings up a new screen and at the top of that are 3 "browse..." buttons click the top one and it opens a tab on your computer and all you do is find the picture you want, click it then hit "open" after you do the same thing to the other pictures you want there is an "upload" button next to the 3 "browse..." buttons. click that and then submit the reply

and the pictures you uploaderd should post below the text like this

YES. this needs to happen. id be willing to coordinate this if its ok with all of you. we would just need to figure out where all of us live so we can pick a location to meet that is best for the majority of us (so backtracking is kept to a minimum)

im down by Riggs & ValVista (far south-east valley)

Go through all that effort and stuff a VatoZone Airtex one in?

Get a Delco one from Rockauto.com it's like $10 more.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

Im down with Vato Zone homes! lol. Yeah Ive have had nightmares with online orders in the past and unless I absolutely have no choice I will NOT deal with it. If I could get a walbro in a store local or Delco I would be all over it. Is that an option?? I could always return the airtex and upgrade. Guess I should of done my homework fist (in this google era) probably would be able to get a something local, and not turn out to look loco buying Airtex.

I think I meet you once a while ago when we took a cruise up north with the guys at AZF-BodyAssociation.

[quote=Arvizu9618;5607893]I think that's the misconception and reason that alot of third genners don't turn out. Your car doesn't have to be showroom quality for the ConC. Hope this happens but ill be there regardless.

Now this is ultra true!!! ...you don't have to have a show car or a show winner to roll to the Central show and Cruise... just need to show up with your ride!!! Like i laways say::: "I'd rather have a show of force then no show at all".......

I will try to get with nancy about the dates Oct 12th times 1pm-8pm (Get there earlier for good parking guys).... this way we have a good idea of when... to see if were off or can get off of work..lol....

are you guys still down for this???

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

So after going and doing a basic tune up on the formy and getting it road worthy I took it out for a spin last night (remember it had been sitting for a few years). So i notice that some of the wheel studs were broken (4 to to be exact, 2 on each front wheels).

Long story short, something is completely wrong with the car's suspension (not to mention a wacky idle issue) that makes the ride horrible. It was shaking super hard, best described as turbulence in a plane. Parked it, notice a bad motor mount and the front sway bar bushings are done as well. Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue in the past. My car is sitting on stock EVERYTHING, so shocks and springs and bushings are tired Not sure if I have the time to get this squared away prior to the cruise. But im going to give it a try.

Guess I wanted to keep you guys updated because I had original committed to the cruise in the Formy. If that doesn't happen, I will still show up but in the TT edition 2011 FJ instead

that's where I'm going to be. don't know about everyone else though.

it starts at 1pm, and we should be at the cruise about half an hour early... so what if we all meet up at 11:30? that will give us an hour to all show up and drive to the cruise.

heck we could even swing by and all get lunch together or something before the cruise. or will they have food there... I'm not quite sure if they will or not

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

If you are trying to get some good parking I recommend showing up a bit earlier then 1pm. If parking at the park central parking lot (i think they charge now a days) you "should" be ok at 1pm. This cruise stats getting busy pretty early.

As far as lunch. Not sure what everyone would be ok with eating. But on central you have a few places to choose from (if you don't mind some high traffic due to the cruise). You will find a deli place just behind the Starbucks at the park central plaza. You also have a Lennys (burgers), Best of Philly (sanmiches) and a Honey bears BBQ joint all just south of southern on central. Either of those places would be cool to view cars that are cruising just my two cents. Oh and if your into fast food, you could find a McD's just north of Osborn and you will see a Jack in the box across the main parking lot (both on central).

Hope to meet many of you guys!

Agreed! But I wish that I kept the original stock formula wheels. Over all the car is in decent shape for 178,xxx miles. Still working on it to try to have it out next sat!

Btw Deancrew, your hood set your car apart in my opinion it gives it a great look, lots of attitude!

Ok so this cruise is also a mini show at the park central mall parking lot (its an Okay sz parking lot). To park in that desinated park central mall (plaza) every car gets charged (I think its $10, but not 100% sure). It use to be free. Its on a first come first serve basis unless you reserved a spot. I dont know how that is done ... but i konw its something that has happen in the past ... maybe the site that someone posted could tell us more??

As far as the "cruise" thats a free for all. Its up and down cruising on central ave. As far north as camelback to as south as mcdowell (in actuallity theres is no start or end time, that just seeams to be the turning points).

The only issue I foresee is that if we find a good parking spot (outside of the "desinated cruise parking") for the group, when we decide to stroll up and down central our parking will be up for grabs.

Be ready to see a wide arange of car types. Imoports typically dont dominate this event so for those worried about that...dont be. Im always happy to see more than one turbo t/GN at these events. And yes usually f-body and stangs show up in good #'s . You will see a lil bit of everything!

Hope some of this info helps. Im sure we will have others posting some ideas/thoughst of their own.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

ok that makes sense mula. Thanks

and from the websight i posted up a ways, it says $10 but the flyer says $15... but you get a t-shirt, dash plaque, and sticker when you pay. and basically paying for your spot saves it for when your done doing the cruise you have somewhere to park again.

and i think you reserve a spot by calling the event coordinator. http://www.cruisinarizona.com/events/101213central.htm

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

I have a little issue or hope it is a little issue when driving my car yesterday i heard what sounded like a loud vacc leak but no loss of power or anything. Then when I pulled in my drive way it was squeling like belt noise or pullie noise. I checked under hood and my belt is fairly new and in good condition so dont think it is the challenge. As I revved the motor from the throttle body I could feel tiny bits of something hitting my arm. I don't know what it is. There is a grinding noise coming from the front of the motor somewhere. I took my long flat head and listened around and all sounds normal accept for the alternator it is really noisy. I also noticed as I revved the motor that it was getting smoky inside and out of my garage. I know I need to replace the valve seals because it smokes at start and I have ordered those along with an LT1 cam and headers. I had to take my son to karate so I did not get to look any further. I am going to try and replace the alternator to see if that corrects it but still wouldn't know what was hitting my arm as I revved the motor weird. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks

So what was hitting your arm? Air? Fluid? something solid? Might help diagnosing it.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

so my car survived the drags at the drag, :P I can be almoast sure that my car was the favorite of the day. every time I took it out my dad said about 5 people in the crowd were talking about it ^.^ although I am sad to find out from the videos i have from inside the car (they didn't have a timing system or a tree, hell they didn't even have a cute girl in a bikini doing the arm drop) my best run was 16.2. but I averaged about 16.7

http://www.youtube.com/user/C0mmanderX/videos ---- I uploaded the videos to my YouTube account so i can share them

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

Ok believe my car is all set again for the cruise this weekend it ended up being my alternator. Stupid I know but never had one go bad like this it started sparking and going crazy when I started the car last night to diagnose. The cruise is this weekend can we get a show of hands of who can meet at 32nd st and Mcdowell in the payless parking lot please. I was looking at the other post for a thirdgen car club and it seems alot of people are going to be meeting on Nov. 8 for this at the pavilions take a look at the post if you get a chance there is alot of mumbo jumbo and alot of pages but if you read the entire first page you get the point.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

In the southwest region there is a thread called third gen car club or something of that nature. You can find it there. You will be in the parking lot on Saturday correct?
