how much does this actually help? somebody told me that almost stock 4th gen A4 cars were almost pulling the tires with the front swaybars un hooked and on sticky tires. does it help that much?

I think it helps a lot. I also have moved the battery to the trunk and have a fiberglass hood. So the extra weight out of the front just seems to get the front to lift higher w/o spinning.
I've launch on the juice at the track puttin down 551tq at the wheels. That realy gets the car jumpin.

If you look at the new GM High Tech Performance there is a 4th gen running high 12's with no sway bar and you can see air under the driver side tire.
I've had good success from removing the swaybar. The car lifts up a bit higher and quicker to get the weight transferred. Give it a shot, can't hurt for sure. Just don't try running down those sharp curves anymore.
