Whats are the differences between 82-83, and 84+ brakes?
Ive been looking at aftermarket front brakes lately, and most of the kits are for 84 and up F-Bodies. Apparently, 82-83 F-Bodies use 'SAE Brake Hardware' according to one of the ads I saw in my magazine. Does anyone know what all is different? I dont know why GM feels they need to change such minor things. I recently replaced my caster-camber plates with 'new' ones from an 88 GTA. I had to use both metal pieces that the plates bolt to (the studded parts) because my bolts were spaced just a bit differently. Having an early thirdgen sucks...

Yeah, they changed from SAE lines and fittings to metric ones. THe sizes aren't that much different, but they definitely don't hook up. Can't say why really, it's just the way it is.
I have a 83, I've had to do a certain amount of adapting, like when I put a 91-92 PBR disk brake rear in it.

So the only difference is the lines? The caliper, spindle, strut, etc are all still the same? How hard is it to just change the lines over to 84-up lines?

AFAIK all that is the same. The spindle is different starting in about 89, but that doesn't affect the stock iron caliper brakes.
The lines should be pretty easy to change, when the motor is out. Getting that one out and back in with the motor and Y-pipe in the way would be a witch with a capital B.
