I've read the "they changed them in 88 or 89" stuff and it's bunk.

Holding a 1985 spindle next to a 1991 spindle, there is zero difference.

The 1LE spindles were a different PN because of the modification to them.

I'm pretty sure there are no differences whatsoever. I've heard that supposedly the 91/92's are a little thicker but I dunno for sure. When I bent a spindle on my 88 Iroc, I put a spindle on from my friends 82 firebird and it was exactly the same.

Supposedly GM changed the spindles in the Late 89 model year. The newer style spindles are supposedly thicker and stronger. I found some more info on it a few mouths ago. I will post it here if I can find it again.

Go here http://www.ws6transam.org/1LEbrake.html

And scroll down to "Modifying your spindles" for some info. I have yet to see a side by side comparison though.

I got a spindle form a pre 85 camaro and it's the exact same as my 91 (except without a stripped bolthole)

So that solves this question incase anyone wants to know
