Broken EBrake
Hey everyone...
My Ebrake sounds, feels and appears to work... but the car still rolls. I can pull it back, it gets tense, and clicks... seems to work. but no go. How can i fix this? Thanks!

Get under the car, look at the sleeves that the cable slides in. Sometimes the cable seezes up inside the sleeve making it feel like you are activating the e-brake when you are really not. Also check the "T" adjuster located above the driveshaft under the car in the location of the e-brake handle. Make sure that it's not loose at all, there shouldn't be much play at all.
Before you do any of that, do this: I assume that you have rear drum brakes. If so, pull of the wheel and the drum and check the floating adjuster link and make sure that it adjusts the pads properly. If this adjuster is not correct, it could throw off your e-brake adjustment.
Here is a FYI: All cars must pass a test set by the governement that all e-brakes must be able to hold a vehicle on a 30% grade for 5 minutes facing both directions.
