Lowering Spring Question
Lowering Spring Question
Hi,
I have just installed lowering springs 1 inch from Suspension Techniques and AGX adjustable struts and shocks last night. After driving for 20 minutes I notice that the front is lower than the back. Is this normal as the springs need time to seat properly or do I have another issue. Please help as I did this myself with a friend who knows what he is doing.

How much lower???? Are you sure that the end of each coil sat in the proper spot in the rubber isolater???? typically you can throw the height off ~1/2" or so if you have the end in the wrong spot OR if the isolater is not seated properly....
Also how did it sit before??? and what were these springs "supposed to do" Usually different kits will kive you a different look... some kits give you a LEVEL look...others Raked which is what you have...

The back is 1 inch higher than the front after the new springs are in, this is a measurement from the center of the hub to the top of the wheel well. I will check the seating of the spring. Could it just be that because there is no weight in the rear that it will take longer to settle?

The pig tails on the bottoms of the springs should be positioned on the inside of the A-arms. You will see (2) drain holes in each A-arm and the end of the springs should completely cover the first hole and partially cover the second.

If the fronts aren't in right, it would tend to make the front sit higher than it should so I don't think that's the issue. I installed my Eibach springs with new front isolators and the old stock rear isolators and did get a bit of a raked stance but it's really not that bad at all. Here's a link to the stance I got after I played with the rear isloators after the install. It has since lowered a bit:
