Cheapo Spring Compressor
I just used this to get my original Springs out...
Compressed til the upper metal piece sat on the a-arm so it cannot slip off the spring...
after the a-arm is out you can loosen this and take the spring off of the arm...
I put in a throw-out-bearing on the lower end so it spins better when compressing. The lower nut is welded onto the threaded rod.
I know its cheap but it worked fine for me..

whatever it takes/works , just hope you used grade 5 or better hardware . seems like a decent idea . good luck .
