Do spindles interchange?

I just wondering if the spindles between firebirds and camaros are able to be swapped with one another. Or would they be slightly different in how the dust sheild mounts and/or how long the thing the tie rod attaches to is? I'm asking because I may have found a good deal on a set of firebird spindles to mod for the brake upgrade for my IROC-Z.

My guess is that they are the same but I just want to be positive.

Mike

Re: Do spindles interchange?

Camaro & Firebird spindles do interchange, but (AFAIK) do not interchange with any other GMs, like the S10/S15. Our strut suspension would prevent interchangeability with dual a-arms front suspensions (S10/S15, C/K, Impala/Caprice etc.)

Re: Do spindles interchange?

Yes the F-Body suspension is rather unique in the GM lineup, I suppose this is due to it's limited travel requirement. Camaro/Firebird spindles are the same 82-92 as far as I know, EXCEPT the 1LE/B4C cars but these are rare.

Re: Do spindles interchange?

They interchange. They did from my parts car (91 Formy) to my car. But, you may need an alignment. The only thing I changed was the spindles (didn't touch anything else) and the toe was off 7/8 of an inch...
