Rubbers
When are spring rubbers appropriate? My springs are on the soft side and I was wondering if spring rubbers could be used to up the rate a bit. I found these but I dont know if thats priced for 2 or 1 rubber.

Where on the spring are they installed? In the middle of the coils or at the bottom?

Re: Rubbers
i used them one time and they fell out. i don't think it matters where you put them but all springs are different. soft springs will have less coils therefore more space between coils. im sure they work though because nascar uses them.

Re: Rubbers
I also use then on my daily driver truck also(I need to get another 3rd gen, sorry to keep giving examples today with my truck).
When you installl them, you should spin them all the way down on the spring so as to set them into the deadened lower spring coil. You are reducing free coils when you use them. The massive hard one I use on my truck (1100lb springs) give me about another 75lbs. I run 5.5" coils. To get these ones on though, unlike the smaller ones I use on the 2.5" coilover spring assemblies on the racecar, I had to remove the coils and thread them on. The smaller coilover ones I lube them up with WD40 and squeeze them intot he coil and then spin them to the bottom so they wedge into the bottom deadened coil zone and stay put in ossilation.
I will run out and take a picture of the ones on my truck- give me a few minutes to take them and upload.

Re: Rubbers
Here is a shot of the back left side front suspension. due to the nature of these A-amrs I run the spring rubbers are spun down as far as they can go against the hidden A-arm spring can. These are so large and solid that they would never come out even though they are not fully wedged against the bottom of the coil windings.
These ones are massive spring rubbers. The ones I use on the race cars are much smaller. I will try and remeber to take my camera to the race shop next week and photograph them on the racecar.

Re: Rubbers
Good to know. Do you think I could see a 50lb rate increase from using them on my 600lb camaro springs?
