Hard pedal... Whimpy brakes???
When driving my car the pedal feels fine when pressing it down but the brakes are very weak.
I've replaced both front flex lines, added an adjustable proportioning valve, and a new master cylinder. I have bled the brakes fully and the car still won't lock up the wheels. This happened when I took the car out of storage. The only mod made when this problem started was the install of a new carb. There is still plenty of suction from the hose though.
Could this be an adjustment issue with the pushrod length in the master cylinder? Anyone else solved this problem?
Thanks

I dunno. I'm chasing a similar problem. The pedal feel is good, the car just doesn't seem to stop. If I get anywhere I'll DEFINITELY post it here.

That would be good 99HAWK120... I'll post it too if I ever figure it out.
I know we're not the only ones because I've seen this problem posted before. I never found an answer in the archives though.

Bort, speak for yourself, I have front 1LEs and 89-92 rear discs.
The damn thing SHOULD stop.
I'm putting SS brake hoses everywhere (5 of them) and then I'm going to rebleed everything including the master cylinder.
However, it's going to be a little while until I get the car back on the road, unfortunately.

I'm running ATE super blue fluid, brand new. I don't think it's the fluid. All the hard lines are NEW, and the fairly new rubber lines were just replaced with SS braded hoses. The brake fluid comes out of the calipers and hoses the same color it does right out of the can.
It's got to be a malfunctioning or wrong part, or air in the lines, or simply pads that aren't aggressive enough (GM Durastops on all 4 wheels).
I'll figure it out as soon as I get a tranny in the car, which isn't happening till I figure out why my #%#$ LT1 flywheel won't bolt up.
