CLUNK!

weird problem... when turning left and accellerating, if there is a bump in the road (ie bigger than a manhole cover), and only if i have a passenger, there is a loud clunk coming from somewhere to my right towards the rear of the car.

i did a 'hands and knees' inspection and didn't see anything wrong. anybody have this problem? if i'm alone in the car it doesn't happen... the first time i thought i might have bottomed the suspension cuz i had a 'large' passenger, but happens with smaller folks too.

any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are indeed bottoming out something.
Check the right rear jounce bumper over the rear axle. The rubber may be missing.

Check the exhaust where it passes over the axle too.
